The Armbruster Family ~ 31 Families of HOPE: Day 22

Meet the Armbruster Family!: Scott & Jennifer Armbruster, Savannah, Evan, Moise, Dinqee, Alejandra, Henock plus one 'lil extra in their loving care.

Jennifer, what first tugged on your heart about the Fatherless?
I was 12 years old and my youth group went on a mission trip to Haiti. My parents didn’t allow me to go. When the group got back they showed a video. The Lord spoke directly to my heart during that video.

Tell us one unique thing about your family/ministry.
My husband and I are heading up an orphan care ministry at our church.
We have recently become foster parents.

What was one challenge either before, during or after your child(ren) came home?
The wait during our first and second adoptions proved to be very difficult yet refining.

If you could tell a family that was considering adoption one bit of advice what would it be?
Pray, let God guide you.
Make sure you and your spouse are in 100% agreement.
Don’t allow the world to define your family.

What verse was especially encouraging to you during your adoption journey?
Proverbs 24:11-12 &  Isaiah 61
The Lord used so much of the book of Isaiah to encourage me through our journey. Exodus was also very encouraging when the Lord was speaking to us about adopting our son from Congo even before our children were home from Ethiopia.

Share one blessing that has happened because you said YES and followed God on this journey.
God provided every single penny for our 2nd, 3rd and 4th adoptions. It was amazing. We have seen God’s favor is every area of our lives since ‘putting our yes on the table’.

If you could share one other thing that is meaningful to you on the topic of adoption/orphan care, what would it be?
I do not believe every one is supposed to adopt but I do believe every Christ follower is called to do something concerning the orphan.

Thank you, Armbruster Family, for sharing HOPE with us here at Reaching Hearts!  Be sure to check out their family blog to learn more about their adoption journey as well as their current ministry within the local church.
