Encouraging our Husbands Podcast

Last week I had the privilege to share with two wonderful groups of moms about "Encouraging our Husbands". It definitely wasn't a "feel good" topic, but rather a message to spur us on to be the wives God has called us to be. The Lord has been working in my heart in this area for a very long time. Part of the struggle is that it totally goes against what the world and our culture tells us every day! After the message we gathered at tables to discuss and share over some questions. We can't be the wives God has called us to be on our own strength. We must depend on the Lord. That is something I need to daily remember. I wanted to share here for far-away-friends that might be looking for a little encouragement.

You can hear the podcast here.
And below is the outline we used that might be helpful as you listen. Oh, and this message is pretty much just for women. ;)

Definition of DIScourage:

Romans 15:4-6 (New International Version, ©2011)

4 For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope.

5 May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had, 6 so that with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

  1. I just wanted to tell you, I was there that morning. Your speaking on this exact subject astounded me. I had no idea what the subject was to be about and when I seen the paper on the table with the title "Encouraging Our Husbands" I thought "Someone is trying to tell me something." Now, I'm not saying I don't encourage my husband, I do, lots. What I am saying is I needed to be put back on the path of the reasons why I encourage him. Not just to do it because it is 'what I do'. Thanks for taking the time out of your day for making a difference in my day =) I do have to tell you the outline we filled out is on my refrigerator right this very minute. NOT my doing, but my husbands, which right there showed me how important this is to OUR husbands. That piece of paper made a difference that day. I felt refreshed. Thank you again.

  2. Ohhh...I write a weekly blog for the Register-Mail, it's about my trials and tribulations of being a SAHM. You are mentioned so I thought you would like to read it! =) Here is the link

    Have a GREAT day.

  3. PrimLiLMama ... this made me smile. :) LOVE the fridge thing! ;) Blessings to you as you continue to love your fam!

  4. I am so bummed! I can't listen-it won't download correctly for me or something. And I even downloaded RealPlayer thinking that might help. *sigh*

  5. Danielle, bummer! I tried it this morning and it was working for me (but taking awhile to download). Sorry. :( I posted on FB also, but same server, so not sure that will help you.
